Welcome to DTC 476.02

Welcome to WSU-V DTC 476.02 - Digital Literacies: Social Technology.

This class explores social technology and social media marketing through readings, discussions, class exercises, assignments and two projects, an individual and a group social media marketing project.

We'll begin by examining the most prevalent social media tools, and the ways in which they are used. We'll use case studies to better understand the concepts of Social Sharing, Collective Intelligence and Social Engagement. We'll also examine how social technology shifts power between authors and audiences, between businesses and consumers, between organizations and their members.

The two projects will give students the chance, individually and in group, to explore and apply the concepts of social media to real-world marketing applications.
